not too bad what's going on okay so I'm I'm a call right now with one of my bosses I've means right so what is going to give you a brief overview of what our app it's designed to do and then from there will have some questions

basically
the we'll do marketing for the app and will generate a user base and anyone with I need for your service we will qualify and then transferred to you and what I mean by qualify IT is your tutor right so let's say you just you tutored in math and English and science if they're looking for Spanish lessons then and you don't provide that service then we would filter them out before connecting them with you
basic feature of the act yeah of course so you're directly your directly marketing people to the specific needs of the individual as far as like my students what I would need is I teach music so you would direct people that were looking to learn the specific insurance that I teach exactly exactly gotcha so you're not wasting your time talking to people we're looking for a service that you don't provide

okay that's one aspect of that that's one feature the app additionally we'll have we'll have like calendar
where you can you what you went with which you can use to organize all of your lessons to you know organizer open your free time and basically help you managers manager time
at another pizza with with your contact list basically you know all of your clients specific notes for them you know were they had trouble where you left off last session and any any other information specific to that contact client
engine and then we will have
payment processing so you use if you see if you've ever use like uber you know you're finished with the less then you know you send your complete notification and they can press pay right and we'll process it and credit you the money

additionally invoices you can send out invoices you could send out estimates for packages you can we can handle all your paperwork which you can then later retrieved you know
at tax time and your expenses and that type of thing all within the app

so that's kind of the core functions
over apps so what we're looking for from you are kind of specific to your individual day to day tasks features that would help you do your job you more efficient be more productive yeah that type of thing so I think Clayton asking questions
on those topics to ask you okay okay so let's see the first question I have here for you is we do about your typical day what would you like to see improved for example would you like to get more leads which is new students help with the scheduling would you like help with the marketing or would you like help with the invoicing
really the 2 things that would be at the top of the list which I think would be almost the same thing to some degree would be new students in marketing that's really that's the core of the bloodline for any business let me just quickly if I could mention this I you know I'm 52 I've been playing music for over 37 years I played professionally I've had record deals I've done music videos so I'm I'm you know not super star but I'm relatively well known and I was a session player for a number of years as well so if you don't know what that is you know a new singer gets signed they throw him in the studio and they hire people like myself who can just walk in here a couple bars and lay down a guitar tracker big bass track very rapidly so that they could move the session along without huge expenditures to move along so you know I have a pretty decent background the experience that I have found challenging for my specific area now I can't speak for other people to during math or other things in my in my case what I am is I'm a private and I call it boutique music teacher
teach guitar and bass and to just give you I want to just give you a little background because then this might give you some idea of of how you would go about marketing it when I say boutique what happens is probably 90 percent of the time is if you decided you want to learn how to play music and you went to say it like guitar center to get guitar lessons or you went to M. I. T. Musik institute of technology or the school of rock which is a real thing or if they have another place called joined the band there's probably 10 of him out there those tend to be
very specific curriculum based you walk in and Bob about the Bob because in 2 weeks time a teacher might leave and they might replace that teacher so they have to have a very specific curriculum to pick it up
where I would be different is if just I'm just you know giving you a hypothetical if you came to me and said Hey I play guitar a little bit but I want to be a singer song writer and I want to audition for possibly some TV shows American however I have played on television shows and I have music awards your I. one summer so I could say well not only can I teach you the theoretical component of how to play the guitar I have auditions got on and won the television show so I can also boutique style teach you from the point of learning more about the instrument to applying it to how you would audition how you would get through the process so I don't know if that's making any sense but I can do it more more boutiques loose specific and being that I live in in you know I'm 10 minutes from Hollywood this is the type of thing that may come up quite a bit so the problem that I have found just to present to you the challenge I have other friends that you know I've come up with in the industry playing and all of us are sort of at that point now like I say I'm in my fifties I do still play and do stuff but predominantly I teach I'm just older now merry have a family and so forth is I have tried every marketing thing planet earth up to this day
you know.com web advertising I've worked with some other firms that are similar to yourself that that you know we're attempting to do a similar thing have put together similar things and I'll be perfectly honest with you I've never ever really gotten any work from any of these types of things
pretty much everything at least again baby it's very specific to my industry is is very word of mouth
it's just sort of the nature of the business I don't know why and everybody that I know you know has said the same thing all of my students I have a pretty good core base of students and they range all the way I've got young people that are 1415 that you know want to learn how to play some future mother played guitar I've got a little bit older young people maybe in their mid to early twenties amid that have been playing in bands for years and now they want to be session player so I'm teaching you know so that's what I was kind of getting to the point of the the boutique nature of what I do and what some private teachers like myself to it whatever it is you're hoping to achieve its not just I'd like to play the guitar guy can do that I can also get very specific all of that has always come from referrals from other people and again you know other than you know I take a stab at Craig's list I used to place ads all the time I I just do it you know very you know sparingly I'll be honest in all the years I've been teaching a long time I'll tell you how many students I got from Craig's list 1
and and and I guess that I've worked with companies like yours and again I'm not obviously searching in anyway what you're doing I hope you guys are wonderful you know successful I I wish everybody success I'm just letting you know from having you know doing this for so long and and coming up through the internet generation that I have tried these things in the past and I've I've worked with companies and done things and for some reason again I I don't know anyone that tutors math or anything like that so that that might be something that yeah it works really well and that's that digital environment I've always found for what I do in the arts that it's just always been very challenging I've I've virtually never gotten any work from it so I'm just sort of letting you know what you know from where I'm coming from
no okay not a far as on the tutoring reserves are you touring face to face so do you do yeah yeah I have I have a I have a recording studio I built a studio in my house so I have all the students come here reason being is that I have amplifiers I have a playback system I have access to everything it's it's you know I've I built a professional studio so and it's also it's a better learning experience when people walk into a studio there's a lot of equipment there's just something about your your frame of mind that it sort of changes in your little more focused so I found all those things to be very conducive when you're surrounded by music equipment like your professional stopping again I've got you know professional play back so again I'm hypothetical you you know you're 19 or 20 you been playing for years and now you want to audition for some Hollywood fans you can bring the tracks over with you and I have a playback system I can teach you how to not only play this song back to learn how to learn you know how to place you know music and things of that nature so I I teach pretty directly out of my studio
okay now in the event though in the event that we were able to get you the types of clients and she would like and be able to successfully you know promote your business what would be the best way for us to provide you with please for example would you like leads via call email or text you know all all 3 are fine I and the reason I say that as well I don't know how old you are but I'm sure you know everybody's a little different I mean depending on your age some people just like the tax so if someone wants to text me with the Hey I want to learn how to play blah blah blah I'm fine with that if somebody wants to email me I'm fine with that and if they want to call me as you can see I have no problem talking to people either
okay no problem problems all work well
and would you have interest in new would you like to have direct calls from clients so would you like to pre screened for example we can send you a cold called lead that may or may not convert in charge you between one to $5 per lead or we could actually answer that call book the session and and also charge the client in charge you a small commission between 10 to 15 percent which would I would probably feel yeah I probably feel better about the free screening just because if you know that was gonna be my question is how do you guys make money get obviously if you're going to make money off of you know each you know time someone books you know yeah I prefer a pre screen just because the the other components of that comes out of this is a lot of times when you put something like this out there you get a lot of phone calls for people that are selling other services so they're not you know they're not always necessarily it somebody calling to find you know a teacher they're calling trying to sell me the same service you guys are selling or 8 a different version of it or whatever you know okay understood understood now as far as scheduling how are usually scheduling your clients
how do you mean well how my schedule you are using like Google calendar or you using in an apt to schedule them no I don't use any apps or anything I mean I'm a little old school so I just keep a binder and everybody's you know sometimes like I do I have some students that have a specific time and date that they have a look and they stay religiously to it in last summer urgency happens and then I have you know some people probably half and half some people just ask their weeks you know kind of you know some people like I you know I might have some people that are waiters or waitresses you know working and until they get their schedule on Saturday or Sunday they don't know what day is available best for them so so then people just call or text me and say Hey can I get in Wednesday at 2:00 and if it's not books all say yes if it's booked off they know I'm booked until for something after or before whatever so so it's it just usually sort of roles like that and I just keep a little you know little you know spiral notebook
okay no problem now as far as marketing you shouldn't have to pay for marketing before in the past now are you currently paying these marketing no I so I said I I I stopped doing it years ago just because you know it I guess it it it proved to be I guess that I just I don't know if you guys follow me through Craig's list I just I just placed a Craigslist again just for the hell of it they're charging now for any ring yeah I anything relating to tutoring your lessons they charge now so every once in O. S. I. B. once in awhile I'll throw some advertisements on there but like I said I I have tried you know other companies up with things like this together and I have tried and like I said and and again it's not just me because I talked to my peers you know I obviously you know probably the bulk of my friends of all guys I came up in the industry with and everybody sort of gave up on doing these types of things you know years you know a couple of over the last couple of years for sure
okay no problem well I'm this far as keeping track of clients like Rick had explained to you earlier which want to do is we're trying to implement a C. R. M. which is customer relations management system and what it does actually manages all of your clients to it manages your invoices it keeps track all of the lessons you guys have had it also will send out reminders sources acting speaking it's December coming up and you want to send out some promotions going to send out reminders to all of your client has automatic reminders you can you know you can go in the system and say Hey for the month of December I want to offer you know 10 percent off you know or right right no that's all right yeah because I would actually like I said you know what also send reminders out your clients when the when 15 minutes before the session the day before the session that way everything can always be on the up and up and if anything should be changed pretty much will track all of your clients woods right right and having a system like that
yeah I mean that's something that sounds interesting as well I mean I guess it would all depend on you know how you guys would be doing is your how your company would be structured so if that would be an additional charge I probably at least initially wouldn't really be too interested in that again because you know it's it again with the I'll speak specifically for me because again you're going to probably talk to a lot of people that tutor all different types of things what with regard to the arts specifically music you know people do they drift off sometimes they find other teachers are they get tired of doing it or they lose their job and so you know people drift off and if you're a really good teacher and they got something out of it they'll come back to you and and you know usually those reminders and things like that again something that I've experienced in the past so I don't I don't know for all the work that would be put into on there not that advantageous and I'm not saying this from the perspective I don't think that you guys have a good product or an app I'm you know I'm sure it's probably amazing it sounds really cool I'm saying it in the specificity of the business but I'm in in what I've experienced there are certain things that
probably wouldn't be as effective as it may be in other industries other you know you know types of tutoring environments are teaching environments as far as the actual and result
